Ratan Tata's business is spread across more than 100 countries. He was not just a billionaire but a person who had done a lot for crores of people in the country with the Tata Group. He is loved a lot for his simple life and philanthropic work. The whole country is saddened by his demise. Because Ratan Tata never married, the biggest question after his death is who will be the next 'Ratan' of the Tata Group? Who will be the successor of Ratan Tata, the owner of a net worth of about Rs 3800 crore?
Will the stepbrother get the empire?
Naval Tata is considered to be the strongest contender among the possible successors of Ratan Tata. Noel Tata, born to Naval Tata's second wife Simone, is Ratan Tata's half-brother. This family bond puts Noel Tata at the top in terms of carrying forward the Tata legacy. However, given his advancing age, responsibility can be given to one of his three children. Noel Tata's three children include Maya Tata, Neville Tata, and Lia Tata. Apart from these, Ratan Tata also has a younger brother Jimmy Tata, who always stays away from the limelight and the activities of the Tata Group.
Maya, who studied at Bayes Business School and the University of Warwick, has played an important role in Tata Opportunities Fund and Tata Digital. She was instrumental in launching the Tata New App. 32-year-old Neville Tata is deeply involved in the family business. Neville is the head of Star Bazaar, a major hypermarket chain under Trent Limited. 39-year-old Liya Tata is the eldest. She works in the hospitality sector of the Tata Group. Liya, who studied IE in Spain, has made a significant contribution to Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces. She manages operations at the Indian Hotel Company.
