'We have to deal with the civil war ourselves'

Newly elected US President Donald Trump has accused Russia of not helping its friend Syria. Trump said Putin himself is embroiled in the Russia-Ukraine war, he is no longer interested in helping Syria and President Bashar al-Assad. Meanwhile, Konstantin Kosachyov, Deputy Chairman of the upper house of the Russian Parliament, said on Sunday that the Syrian people will have to deal with this civil war alone. Kosachyov suggested that Russia is ready to support the Syrian people under certain circumstances.

Rebels capture major cities

After Assad leaves the country, the Syrian Prime Minister has proposed handing over power to the rebels. PM Mohammad Ghazi al-Jalali said in a video that he will stay in the country and work with whoever the Syrian people choose.
