India faces a dire problem with road safety. With over 460,000 road accidents reported annually, resulting in more than 150,000 deaths, the country has one of the highest rates of traffic fatalities worldwide with trucks and buses accounting for 12.5% of accidents in the road user category
Starkenn Technologies, a deeptech startup founded in June 2021 is addressing this critical issue head-on with its innovative solutions for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).
The startup aims to significantly reduce road traffic accidents with its in-house, state-of-the-art driver assistance solutions tailored to Indian road conditions.
Starkenn's ADAS solutions are built on intelligent algorithms that detect nearby obstacles using radars.
The algorithms are fine-tuned for Indian road conditions, ensuring accurate detection and timely engagement of safety protocols within 1.5 seconds.
The startup claims that this cost-effective technology is designed not only for OEM but aftermarket too making it ideal for widespread adoption.
Starkenn's comprehensive product portfolio includes a Collision Mitigation System with a patented AEBS algorithm, a Driver Monitoring System with an Al model for driver behaviour prediction and a Cloud Platform for data analytics and insights.
Notably, the driver monitoring system also comes with a dashcam for recording on-road footage when triggered by a driver behaviour alert.
The algorithms and Al model are trained specifically for dynamic Indian driving scenarios, such as potholes, undefined lane markings, Indian driver attributes such as turbans, and many more diverse conditions.
The intelligent and fine-tuned algorithms minimise false alarms and deliver precise warnings, enhancing overall road safety.
The startup has an in-house R&D centre that specialises in Embedded Hardware, Firmware, Software and AI/ML to provide 3600 ADAS solutions.
