Chandigarh. BJP is forming government in Haryana for the third time in a row. BJP has become the first party to score a hat-trick in Haryana. In the trends, the BJP is leading on 12 out of 90 seats and has won 37. On the other hand, the Congress party has won 31 seats while leading on 5. However, it is worth noting that 9 ministers of the Saini government have lost the elections. There are only 2 ministers who could win the elections.

Ministers were defeated

Mahipal Dhanda from Panipat Rural seat and Moolchand Sharma from Ballabhgarh seat are among the ministers who won. Speaker Gian Chand Gupta from Panchkula, Minister Sanjay Singh from Nuh, Minister Kanwar Pal Gurjar from Jagadhri, Health Minister Kamal Gupta from Hisar, Aseem Goyal from Ambala City, Ranjit Chautala contesting as an independent from Rania, Subhash Sudha from Thanesar and Abhay Singh Yadav from Nangal have lost the election.

The performance of the ministers was like this.

 

  • Gyan Chand Gupta lost from Panchkula by 1997 votes.
  • Kanwarpal Gurjar lost to Jagadhri by 6868 votes.
  • Moolchand Sharma won from Ballabhgarh by 17,730 votes.
  • JP Dalal lost to Loharu by 792 votes.
  • Ranjeet Chautala from Raniyan stood third.
  • Kamal Gupta from Hisar stood third.
  • Aseem Goyal lost from Ambala City by 11,131 votes.
  • Subhash Sudha lost to Thanesar by 3243 votes.
  • Sanjay Singh from Nuh stood third.

BJP's best performance

BJP performed best in Haryana in the 2014 elections. At that time, BJP managed to win 47 seats with a 33.3 percent vote share. In the 2019 assembly elections, BJP's vote share increased but the seats decreased and it had to form the government in alliance. Now in the 2024 elections, BJP has managed to get about 40 percent vote share while winning 50 seats.
