New Delhi: There has been a lapse in the security of Jamaican PM Andrew Holness, who is on a visit to India. He faced difficulties in entering the Parliament of India. Due to the confusion of the security agencies, his entire convoy had to make two rounds of Vijay Chowk. Earlier on Tuesday (1 October 2024), PM Narendra Modi held bilateral talks with Jamaican Prime Minister Andrew Holness at Hyderabad House. Andrew Holness is the first PM of Jamaica to visit India. His four-day visit will continue till Thursday (3 October 2024). On October 2, he visited Rajghat and paid floral tribute to Mahatma Gandhi.
Financial assistance will be received from India tour
Earlier on Wednesday (October 2, 2024), the PM of Jamaica reached Varanasi. Here he visited the Buddhist site Sarnath and also saw the archaeological heritage. He also saw the Dhamekh Stupa and also got information about the artifacts built on it. From here his convoy left for Sarnath. Regarding the visit of Jamaican Prime Minister Andrew Holness to India, the Indian Foreign Ministry said, "This visit is expected to increase economic cooperation between Jamaica and India and strengthen long-term relations."
