New Delhi. Communist Party of India (Marxist) CPIM President Sitaram Yechury breathed his last on Thursday evening. 72-year-old Yechury was ill for a long time. After Yechury's death, his family decided that his body would not be cremated. The body will be donated to AIIMS so that it can be used for research and education.

Sitaram Yechury's family, party, and fans want to pay tribute to him. Therefore, his body will be kept for tributes at the office from 11 am to 3 pm on September 14, after which it will be handed back to AIIMS. People have many questions in their minds after the news of donating Yechury's body. We will answer your questions.

What does AIIMS do with the donated body?

AIIMS officials said, 'First of all, the body is cured using formalin. This means that the body is put through such a process after which no bacteria or germs are produced in the body. This makes the body like a piece of wood and the body does not get spoiled. After this, the first-year MBBS students who are from pre-clinical subjects are made to study anatomy on dead bodies.'

Whether the body has recovered or not

The doctor said, 'Due to repeated exposure to air, a time comes when the body has to be destroyed. In this situation, the body is handed over to the family again. When the body is handed over to the family, the structure of the body changes. Usually, the body is handed over to the family after a few months. Research is done on the body only for a few months.'

Let us tell you that in many places, instead of returning the dead body, it is either burnt or cremated by burying it. After this, if the family wishes, the bones or ashes are given to them.
