New Delhi: The political temperature in Jharkhand is high at this time given the assembly elections in 2024. Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday (November 3, 2024) accused the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) government of protecting Bangladeshi infiltrators for vote bank politics. During this, he launched a scathing attack and said that the population of tribals in Jharkhand is declining drastically. The JMM-Congress-RJD alliance is promoting this for political gain. JMM supported Naxalism
Shah made allegations
The Union minister alleged, “Our 'Mati, Beti, Roti' is under attack. The BJP will not allow this to continue... We will also take back the land grabbed by them and drive them out. His government will implement the Uniform Civil Code in Jharkhand, but tribals will be kept out of its ambit. The JMM supported Naxalism, while the BJP government at the Centre wiped it out.
What did CM Hemant Soren say?
On Amit Shah's allegations, Hemant Soren accused the BJP of strengthening ties with Bangladesh. He said, "BJP leaders have double standards regarding Bangladesh. When former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was removed from the government, why was she allowed to take refuge in India? Has PM Modi made any internal arrangements with Bangladesh? On what basis was Sheikh Hasina allowed to take refuge in India? If electricity is generated in Jharkhand, why is it given to Bangladesh? The central government has to stop infiltration. The state government has no role in this."
