New Delhi: Delhi government minister Kailash Gehlot has resigned from his post. He has also left the party membership by writing a letter to party convenor Arvind Kejriwal. In the letter, he has said that fighting with the central government is a waste of time. After the Sheesh Mahal controversy, there is a doubt in the minds of the general public whether the Aam Aadmi Party really belongs to the common man. As soon as he resigned, there was chaos in the party and everyone's eyes were on his next step.
Resigned due to embarrassing controversies
According to media reports, Delhi minister and AAP leader Kailash Gehlot has resigned from the primary membership of the Aam Aadmi Party. He has written a letter to the party's national convener Arvind Kejriwal. The letter reads, "There are many embarrassing and strange controversies like Sheeshmahal, which are now making everyone doubt whether we still believe in being aam aadmi… It is now clear that if the Delhi government spends most of its time fighting the Center, there can be no real development in Delhi. I have no option left but to separate from AAP and hence I am resigning from the primary membership of the Aam Aadmi Party."
Kailash Gehlot, who was in charge of the Transport and Environment Department in the previous Delhi government, took oath as minister this time too. Kailash has won this time from Najafgarh assembly seat by defeating Ajit Singh Kharkhari of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Last time when Gehlot was the Environment Minister, many steps were taken regarding Delhi's air, which reduced pollution by 25 percent.
