New Delhi: Bangladesh's interim government on Sunday announced that it will seek Interpol's help to bring back former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and some of her aides from India. The government says that Hasina and her aides are accused of crimes against humanity and legal action will be taken against them.

It is alleged that Hasina ordered to crush the movement, due to which the protest of the students took the form of a big rebellion. According to the allegations, the situation went out of control on August 5 and Sheikh Hasina had to take refuge in India. According to Mohammad Yunus, the chief advisor of the interim government, 753 people died and thousands were injured in these protests. At the same time, Yunus termed this incident as a crime against humanity and genocide.
Complaint filed
More than 60 complaints of crimes against humanity have been filed against Sheikh Hasina and other leaders of her party in this case till mid-October. The government says that all these accused will be presented in the court and answers will be sought from them. Bangladesh's legal advisor Asif Nazrul said that soon a red notice will be issued through Interpol.
There is no arrest warrant
This notice is issued internationally to identify these fugitives and temporarily detain them. However, the government says that no matter where the accused is hiding, he will be brought under the purview of the law. According to officials, the Red Notice is not any kind of international arrest warrant, but a request to start the process of locating the accused and temporarily arresting him. Interpol member countries follow this notice and take extradition or legal action according to their respective laws.
