In Bhubaneswar, Odisha, four youths gang-raped a minor girl. They made a video of the incident and threatened to make it viral and also demanded money from the victim and her mother. This crime was planned by the girlfriend of one of the accused. After the case came to light, the police registered a case and investigated it quickly and within 12 hours, five accused were arrested. The police are interrogating the accused.

The case is from Nayapalli town of Bhubaneswar. Here four youths gang-raped a minor girl. The accused also allegedly made a video of this heinous crime. They also demanded money from the victim's mother by threatening to make the video viral. The accused demanded Rs 12,000 from the girl and Rs 50,000 from the girl's mother. 

Police statement

Bhubaneswar DCP Pinak Mishra said that the girlfriend of one of the accused had sent the minor girl to the four accused. After this, they mixed intoxicants in the minor girl's drink and gang-raped her. After receiving information about the incident, Nayapalli police took the matter seriously and formed a special team to investigate the incident. After this, all the accused were detained and questioned about the incident. 

Three accused arrested

So far, three accused have been arrested. The arrested youth is 19 years old and the girlfriend of one of the accused, who had sent the minor girl to the accused, has also been arrested. Two other youths, aged 21 years and 23 years, have also been taken into custody. The victim has been medically examined and further investigation into the incident is underway. DCP Pinak Mishra said, “A minor girl had reported at Nayapalli police station that one of her friends had sent her to four men and they took her to a secluded place and gang-raped her. Later she came to know that the accused had mixed some intoxicants in her soft drink and gang-raped her. Since the case was in the sensitive category, the investigation was started immediately after filing the FIR.

The accused were caught within 12 hours.

Bhubaneswar DCP Pinak Mishra further said, "A special team was formed under the leadership of Nayapalli Police Station IIC. As soon as the information was received, a raid was conducted and all the accused were caught within 12 hours. 5 accused related to the incident were detained and their interrogation was going on. Two accused and the accused's girlfriend have been arrested. At the same time, two boys aged 21 and 23 have been detained and their interrogation is going on."
