Lucknow: On Friday night, a fire broke out in the pediatric ward of Jhansi Medical College. 10 innocent children died in the fire that broke out in the pediatric ward. Along with this, many children were seriously injured in this accident. It is being told that more than 50 children were admitted here.

Why didn't the alarm ring?

The fire was so fierce that it was impossible to enter the hospital through the doors. The firefighters tried to enter through the back door, but failed. After this, the firefighters somehow managed to enter inside by breaking the glass of the ward window.

Eyewitnesses say that the safety alarm did not ring when the fire broke out. After the smoke spread, there was screaming all around. If the safety alarm had rung on time, the rescue work could have started sooner.

The babies were taken out.

There was smoke along with flames inside. Rescue work could start about half an hour after the fire broke out. After this, the firemen started taking out the newborns. Since it was on the ground floor, the newborns could be taken out. If the accident had happened on the second floor, the rescue work could have been more difficult. There are two units in the SNCU ward. One unit is inside and the other is outside. First of all, the newborns who were outside were taken out. The children who were inside were severely burnt. The children admitted here could not be saved.

CM Yogi took cognizance.

According to a statement issued from Lucknow, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took cognizance of the incident and directed the district administration officials to ensure proper treatment of the injured. SSP Sudha Singh told reporters early Saturday that 16 injured children are being treated and efforts are on to save their lives. Adequate medical facilities and all doctors are available for them.
