Encounter in Jammu: Security forces foiled the terrorists' plot to attack an army post in Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir. In the last few months, terrorist incidents have increased in the Jammu region which was considered peaceful till now. Pakistan is being blamed for these attacks. Infiltration incidents have also increased in this area. Security agencies have also launched several major operations to break the back of terrorism in Jammu.
Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi held a high-level joint security review meeting here on Saturday. The meeting was attended by the Directors General of the Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Jammu and Kashmir Police, heads of intelligence agencies, and other senior security officials.
During this, the Lieutenant Governor had said, we should launch a careful and well-planned anti-terrorism operation with better coordination between all the agencies to eliminate the terrorists and those who support them. Sinha also directed that the security system should be strengthened to prevent infiltration from across the border.
Intelligence agency sources recently said that about 50 terrorists are active in the Jammu region. To eliminate them, the Indian government has decided to send 500 para commandos to Jammu.
On Thursday, security forces killed two terrorists trying to infiltrate near the LoC in the Keran sector of the Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir. Earlier on July 14, three heavily armed terrorists were killed on the LoC in Kupwara.
