New Delhi: The Supreme Court has given an important decision in a sexual harassment case. Compromise will no longer be considered in sexual harassment cases. The court has said this in a case related to the sexual harassment of a minor Dalit girl from Gangapur city of Rajasthan. The minor girl had accused her teacher of sexual harassment. The court said that in such serious cases, the case cannot be canceled by a compromise between the complainant and the accused. The Supreme Court has made this comment while canceling the decision of the Rajasthan High Court.
A high court order is not appropriate.
Justice CT Ravikumar said in his judgment that the impugned order is canceled. The court has said that the FIR and criminal proceedings will be proceeded according to the law. We have no comment on the merits of the case. But this crime is under the non-compromising section. In such a situation, the order of the High Court is not appropriate.
Order for retrial
The Supreme Court rejected the order of the Rajasthan High Court, in which a teacher was given relief from the charge of sexual harassment of a minor student. The High Court had quashed the case against the teacher. Which was rejected by the Supreme Court and ordered a re-hearing.
What is the whole matter?
