New Delhi: Every person needs OTP for every work. It is needed for everything from filling out forms to banking, any app, etc. From 1 December 2024, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) is going to implement new traceability guidelines. Its purpose is to protect consumers from spam and fake messages. Many types of questions are arising in the minds of people regarding these rules. Let us know further whether OTP will stop coming on time.
Know what TRAI said?
TRAI said on social media platform X that there will be no delay in the delivery of OTP due to the implementation of these guidelines. TRAI also clarified that the claim that these guidelines will delay OTP delivery is completely wrong. TRAI has directed telecom companies to ensure traceability of messages, but this will not affect OTP delivery. OTPs are essential for digital transactions, secure login, and verification. Under the new rules, OTP messages will now be sent with registered headers and templates. Apart from this, every OTP will also be verified to ensure that the message is following all the rules and there is no irregularity.
Keep your mobile number updated.
There are some ways to avoid delays in OTP. First of all, keep your mobile number updated and make sure that your correct number is linked to all services. These guidelines of TRAI are to create a safe messaging environment for consumers. There may be some trouble in the beginning, but in the long run, un these changes will prove beneficial in protecting from spam and fake messages. Let us tell you that earlier TRAI was going to implement this rule from October 31, but after the demand of service providers, TRAI extended it till November 30.
