New Delhi: Last week, four major Indian companies together added a market value of Rs 81,151.31 crore. ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank were the biggest gainers. During this period, the BSE benchmark fell by 156.61 points, which is equivalent to 0.19 percent.
HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, State Bank of India (SBI), and Bharti Airtel added to their market capitalization. Reliance Industries, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Infosys, Hindustan Unilever, ITC, and Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) together lost Rs 76,622.05 crore.
Last week, ICICI Bank added Rs 28,495.14 crore to its market capitalization of Rs 8,90,191.38 crore. HDFC Bank's value increased by Rs 23,579.11 crore to Rs 12,82,848.30 crore. SBI's market cap increased by Rs 17,804.61 crore to Rs 7,31,773.56 crore and Bharti Airtel's value increased by Rs 11,272.45 crore to Rs 9,71,707.61 crore.
On the other hand, the market capital of Infosys fell by Rs 23,314.31 crore to Rs 7,80,126.10 crore. The value of Reliance Industries fell by Rs 16,645.39 crore to Rs 18,38,721.14 crore. Hindustan Unilever and TCS suffered losses of Rs 15,248.85 crore and Rs 10,402.01 crore respectively.
The trend of three consecutive days of decline in the stock market has been broken on Friday. After the improvement in Sensex and Nifty, the market has once again become buzzing. Today Sensex closed at the level of 81,224.75, gaining 218 points or 0.26%, while Nifty closed at the level of 24,854 after an increase of 104.21 points.
