There will be no minimum monthly charge on electricity connections

Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini has announced that the minimum monthly charge for domestic electricity companies has been abolished and now electricity bills will be made only based on units consumed. In an official statement, the CM was quoted as saying that after this decision, the people of Haryana will get bills only for the number of units of electricity they consume. According to the statement, "After this decision, now the people of Haryana will get bills only according to the electricity consumption. This will provide great relief to electricity consumers."

CM Naib Singh Saini made this announcement while launching the highly subsidized scheme under the 'Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme' in Ambala. Under this scheme, the central government will give a subsidy of Rs 60,000 to poor families for installing rooftop solar units. This subsidy will be given only to those families whose annual income is less than Rs 1.80 lakh.

Poor families got relief

The CM said that the Haryana government will also give a rebate of Rs 50,000 to these families. Thus, the poor family will not have to pay any money to use the solar power unit on the roof. Each unit is estimated to cost Rs 1.10 lakh. He said that families with an income of Rs 1.80 lakh to Rs 3 lakh will also be given Rs 60,000 from the Center and Rs 20,000 from the state government.
