New Delhi: Serious allegations were made against market regulator SEBI chairperson Madhabi Puri Buch in the Hindenburg report. Buch had rejected these allegations and said that these allegations had been made with wrong intentions. The matter had cooled down for some time, but now the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Parliament has sent her a summons to appear on October 24.

Department of Economic Affairs and Revenue also called

The PAC has summoned not just Madhabi Puri Buch but also officials from the Department of Economic Affairs and the Department of Revenue. The PAC, which investigates the expenditure and income of the Government of India, has 22 MPs, including 15 from the Lok Sabha and 7 from the Rajya Sabha. Currently, it is headed by Congress MP KC Venugopal.

Allegations of collusion against Adani Group and Buch couple

Hindenburg Research had accused SEBI chief Madhabi Puri Buch and her husband Dhawal Buch of investing in offshore funds in connivance with the Adani Group. Due to this, SEBI was also accused of not taking appropriate action against the Adani Group. However, the Adani Group completely rejected these allegations.
