Shrikant Patra, a Bhubaneswar auto driver, has taken control of his earnings and the environment with a brilliant innovation.
After 15 years of struggling with fuel costs and a mere Rs 300-400 daily profit, he converted his electric auto into a solar-powered one!
"The low battery and charging issue became a bigger concern every day which hit my services badly," Shrikant Patra said to ANI.
"It all started with my daughter's idea," Patra says. Inspired by a YouTube video, his sixth-grader suggested the switch to solar.
Now, Patra is free from the worries of constant refuelling, low batteries, and charging struggles.
The best part? This eco-friendly auto rickshaw cuts emissions and keeps the city clean while offering a smooth ride for passengers.
Plus, with a full charge, Patra can travel an impressive 140 kilometres and makes Rs 1300-1500 daily!
