New Delhi: Last month in October, the central government gave a big gift on Diwali by increasing the dearness allowance (DA Hike) of the employees working under it by 3 percent. At the same time, another big news related to central employees is coming out, it is being said that the central government can announce a huge increase in the salary of central employees in the new year. Many media reports have claimed that if the government approves the fitment factor 2.86 in the 8th Pay Commission, then the minimum salary of the employees can increase by 186%. Currently, employees get a basic salary of Rs 18,000 per month under the 7th Pay Commission, which can be increased to Rs 51,480 per month.

Pensioners will also benefit from the fitment factor.

According to Shiv Gopal Mishra, Secretary of the National Council of Joint Consultative Machinery (NC-JCM), the government can fix a fitment factor of 2.86. This will be slightly higher than the 7th Pay Commission's fitment factor of 2.57. If this is decided, the salary of the employees will increase tremendously, and their pension can also increase by 186%. Currently, the pension is Rs 9,000 per month, which can increase to Rs 25,740.

May be announced in budget 2025-26

Let us tell you that the 7th Pay Commission was implemented in the year 2016 and it is generally updated every ten years, which is being completed in 2026. Although the date for the formation of the 8th Pay Commission has not been decided yet, but according to media reports, this announcement can be made in the next budget 2025-26. According to some reports, the government can decide in this regard by December 2024 in the meeting of the National Council of Joint Consultative Machinery.

The 7th Pay Commission was constituted in 2014

Let us tell you that the 7th Pay Commission was formed in February 2014 and under this, the salary of the employees was implemented from 1 January 2016. This commission had increased the minimum salary of the employees from Rs 7,000 to Rs 18,000 and also gave many other benefits.
