Ratan not only transformed Tata Group's company Tata Motors but also transformed India's automobile industry. He set new standards in the Indian automobile industry by acquiring Indica, Nano, Jaguar, and Land Rover. His bold decisions brought Tata Motors to the list of the most important automobile companies in the world.

Let us tell you that Tata Motors, formerly known as Telco, has been manufacturing commercial vehicles since 1954 and in 1998, under the leadership of Ratan Tata, the company made its first car named Indica. Indica, which was shaped like the Maruti Zen, was a low-fuel-consumption car. As soon as Indica was launched, more than one lakh people booked it.

Ratan Tata designed this car keeping in mind the needs of Indian customers. It had more space as well as more capacity, this was his first car which was liked more by Indian families. This car was designed in Pune. After this, Tata Motors introduced Indica V2 in place of Indica and won the trust of the customers.

Contacted Ford in the year 1999

After this, when the car division incurred losses, Ratan Tata contacted Ford in 1999 and offered to buy the car division of Tata Motors. Ford reacted very seriously to this. An official also said that when you do not know how to make a car, then why to get into this business? Ratan Tata took this to heart and decided to bring Tata Motors into the race for success, and he proved it by doing it.
