As per data, a significant number of former Google employees have emerged as entrepreneurs in India, having founded at least 52 startups. Let's take a closer look at Google's Indian startup mafia
For the uninitiated, a "mafia" refers to the network of founders and employees of a company that go on to start new businesses.
A 2023 CBInsights report sheds light on the global scale of this trend.
Since 2018, over 1,200 companies have been founded by ex-Googlers, collectively raising a staggering $22 billion in disclosed equity funding.
In fact, as per the report, 21 Google mafia-founded startups have also reached unicorn status in the last 5 years - for instance Adept and Inflection Al, among others.
