Tesla CEO Elon Musk appears to be quite upset with Apple's partnership with ChatGPT maker OpenAl. In a series of posts on X, formerly Twitter, Musk slammed the partnership, terming it "unacceptable security violation".
He even threatened to ban Apple devices at Tesla, Starlink, SpaceX and his other companies.
In one of the posts criticising Apple-OpenAl deal, Musk has shared an Indian meme. The Desi meme has been shared with the header of the photo that reads, "How intelligence works". The meme is said to be from the 2017 Tamil movie 'Thappattam'.
As to what the meme shows, it has a man and woman sharing coconut water. The photo apparently aims to show how Apple sharing data with ChatGPT maker OpenAl could lead to privacy issues.
Threatened to ban Apple devices at Tesla
Musk said that it is absurd that Apple cannot makes its own Al and has to depend on OpenAl. "It's patently absurd that Apple isn't smart enough to make their own Al, yet is somehow capable of ensuring that OpenAl will protect your security & privacy! Apple has no clue what's actually going on once they hand your data over to OpenAl. They're selling you down the river."
Threatening to ban Apple devices at Tesla, Musk wrote, "If Apple integrates OpenAl at the OS level, then Apple devices will be banned at my companies.
That is an unacceptable security violation."
"And visitors will have to check their Apple devices at the door, where they will be stored in a Faraday cage," he further added.
For those unaware, Apple announced collaboration with OpenAl to bring its ChatGPT chatbot to its devices. Starting later this year, iPhone, iPad and Mac users will be able to access ChatGPT for free within iOS 18, iPadOS18 and macOS Sequoia, without needing a separate account.
