The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has announced that 12 Indian unicorn startups including the likes of EaseMyTrip.com , OfBusiness, Zerodha, PW and others have signed letters of intent to join the ONDC.
The list also includes Livspace, GlobalBees, Pristyn Care, CARS24, Policybazaar.com, DPIIT announced at ‘ONDC Startup Mahotsav’, a first-of-its-kind event that brought ONDC and Indian unicorns on the same stage.
According to DPIIT, these unicorns will explore the use-cases for their individual products and platforms on ONDC. Besides these startups, over 125 other startup ecosystem stakeholders also entered similar aggrements with digital commerce network.
Domino's India is one notable addition, planning to integrate its ordering system with ONDC to offer more seamless pizza ordering across various platforms. Similarly, Amazon India is joining ONDC, integrating its logistics network and SmartCommerce offerings to support MSMEs in building and scaling their digital presence.
Furthermore, Google Cloud has launched an accelerator program specifically for ONDC, providing startups with grants, open-source infrastructure, and APIs to enhance their digital capabilities. This initiative aims to support digital sellers in effectively building and expanding their businesses on the ONDC platform.
These developments indicate a significant push towards more inclusive and competitive digital commerce in India, benefiting both consumers and small businesses by increasing accessibility and reducing reliance on large e-commerce platforms.
