Bengaluru will aim to break into the league of top 10 startup ecosystems in the world from its current position at number 21.

The Karnataka government will come out with a policy soon to help #startups expand overseas with country-specific corridors for easier access to those markets.

Within India, #Bengaluru retains its undisputed ranking and position as the startup capital & is home to 45 #unicorns out of the 112 in the country, with a total valuation of $161 billion.

This was further validated in the Bengaluru Innovation Report 2024 released by the Department of Electronics, IT, BT, and S&T, Government of Karnataka which highlighted the numerous advantages of the city in enabling startups.

In its effort to support Karnataka's startup ecosystem the government also organized a special felicitation ceremony for the winners of ELEVATE- a flagship Grant-in-Aid program of the Department of Electronics, IT, BT, and S&T, now in its 8th cohort.

263 startups in the State have been awarded a total grant of Rs 60 crore of which 24% are women-led & 35% are from beyond Bengaluru.
