Actually, due to festivals and holidays, banks are going to remain closed for some days in October. In such a situation, the Reserve Bank of India has released the list of bank holidays for the next month i.e. October 2024. In such a situation, it would be better if you check the list of bank holidays before going to the branch for the work left for October. According to this list, banks will remain closed for a total of 15 days in October.

Out of the total 15 bank holidays in October, 4 are Sundays. Many of these holidays are going to be consecutive. These holidays are in different states. All these holidays will not be applicable in all states.

  • October 1 – Holiday due to assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
  • October 2 - National holiday on the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti
  • October 3 - Sharadiya Navratri and Maharaja Agrasen Jayanti
  • 6 October – Weekly Holiday (Sunday).
  • October 10 - Maha Saptami
  • October 11 - Mahanavami
  • October 12 – Dussehra and second Saturday
  • October 13 - Weekly Holiday (Sunday)
  • October 14 - Durga Puja (Dasin) and Dussehra in Gangtok
  • October 16 - Lakshmi Puja (Agartala, Kolkata)
  • 17 October- Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti
  • October 20 - Weekly Holiday (Sunday)
  • 26 October - Accession Day (Jammu and Kashmir) and 4th Saturday
  • October 27 - Weekly Holiday (Sunday)
  • October 31 - Narak Chaturdashi, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Jayanti and Diwali
