Apple began manufacturing in India in 2017

Apple’s iPhone production in India started in 2017. Its manufacturer, Foxconn, began assembling iPhone SE in Sriperumbudur, near Chennai. In subsequent years, all the latest iPhone models were ‘Made-in-India’ and even exported by Apple's three contract partners —Foxconn, Wistron and Pegatron. The Wistron facility was eventually purchased by the Tata Group for $125 million in October last year.
Since then, the Cupertino-based giant is deepening its ecosystems by building a network of local vendors to reduce its dependence on China.
