Lucknow. Along with the Maharashtra and Jharkhand assembly elections, by-elections are also being held on 48 assembly seats in 14 states. The most discussed among these is the by-election on 9 assembly seats in UP. The BJP, which suffered a severe setback in the Lok Sabha elections, had started making strategies two months ago and CM Yogi had taken the command of the by-elections in his hands.
While SP chief Akhilesh Yadav is trying his best to continue the winning streak that started in the Lok Sabha elections, Yogi has clearly told his workers that old mistakes should not be repeated. He has given a direct message to the voters that if you divide, you will be divided. The special thing is that this time BSP is also contesting the by-elections and AIMIM and Azad Samaj Party are also in the electoral fray. Let us know what is the situation of 9 assembly seats-
Saffron dominates the Phulpur seat.
Phoolpur of Prayagraj is associated with the country's first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and Ram Manohar Lohia. However, these big leaders had contested Lok Sabha elections and this is the assembly election. SP has fielded Mohammad Mustafa Siddiqui from here while BJP has fielded Deepak Patel. BSP has tried to make the contest triangular by fielding Jitendra Singh. SP had fielded Amarnath Maurya from here in the Lok Sabha elections, then it got an edge in the Phoolpur assembly. The number of people of the Patel-Maurya community is more here and BJP has taken full care of this, hence there is some resentment among the upper caste Brahmin-Rajput but the effect of CM Yogi's slogan 'If you divide, you will be cut' is visible. SP is dependent on Yadav-Muslim, while BJP is hopeful that it will get the support of upper castes along with Patel-Maurya.
Sisamau should not slip out of our hands.
Sisamau seat of Kanpur is one of the famous seats. SP has fielded Naseem Solanki, wife of former SP MLA Irfan Solanki from here. This seat was vacant after Irfan was sentenced to 7 years. SP has fielded Naseem Solanki to take advantage of people's sympathy. At present, Naseem Solanki is looking strong with the help of sentiments. Her tears are connecting with the voters in this Muslim-dominated seat.
However, if the BJP stops its sabotage, then caste equations can create an atmosphere in favor of the party. Solanki's family has been occupying this seat for 22 years. BJP has given the responsibility of crossing the electoral river to Suresh Awasthi from here. Here the fight seems to be between Hindus and Muslims and BJP is trying hard to snatch this seat from SP but everything will depend on unity in the organization. While on one hand SP candidate is shedding tears, on the other hand,, she is also offering water to Bhole Baba.
What does Kundraki say
BJP has given a ticket to Ranveer Singh on this seat who is from the Rajput community. SP has fielded Haji Rizwan, BSP has fielded Raftullah Jan, AIMIM has fielded Turk candidate Hafiz Mohammad Waris and Azad Samaj Party has fielded Chand Babu. This time the atmosphere in the area with 60 percent Muslim voters is a bit different. SP candidate has good influence but a section of Muslims seems to be angry with him due to the bullying of his son Haji Kallan. Ranveer Singh is contesting this election while BJP is in power and is openly challenging Haji Rizwan. Owaisi also influences this area, so he seems to be harming the SP candidate.
RLD in Meerapur
In Mirapur of Muzaffarnagar, both BJP and SP have bet on women candidates. BJP is not contesting the election from here itself, but its ally RLD is contesting from here. RLD has fielded Mithilesh Pal while SP has fielded Sumbul Rana. Apart from BSP and AIMIM, Chandrashekhar's Azad Samaj Party has also spoiled the calculations of SP by fielding a Muslim candidate. RLD chief Jayant Chaudhary has done the Khatauli experiment here and has given a ticket to Mithilesh Pal of the Gaderia community. In such a situation, RLD seems to have an upper hand. BJP-RLD is working hard to repeat the successful experiment of 2009. Then in the by-election held here, RLD made Mithlesh Pal its candidate and he won. This seat had fallen vacant after RLD's Chandan Chauhan was elected MP from Bijnor.
