Adampur Assembly Seat: The Adampur assembly seat has a lot of political importance in Haryana politics. Jats are in majority in this assembly constituency but there is also a good number of Scheduled Castes and other communities in it. Adampur assembly seat has been occupied by the family of former Chief Minister late Bhajan Lal. Bhajan Lal and his family members have been winning elections on this seat for the last 56 years. Bhajan Lal's wife, son, daughter-in-law, and grandson have also become MLAs from this seat. Many big leaders came forward to challenge the Bhajan Lal family on the Adampur assembly seat but no one could snatch this fort from the Bhajan Lal family. The biggest reason behind this is Bhajan Lal's image and the work done by him in the area.

Bhajan Lal won 9 times

Bhajan Lal himself was successful in winning the assembly elections from this seat 9 times. He became MLA seven times on Congress ticket, once as a candidate of Janata Party and once as a candidate of HJC. Bhajan Lal's son Kuldeep Bishnoi was elected MLA from this seat four times. He became MLA three times on a Congress ticket, while once he was successful as an HJC candidate.

BJP fielded Bhavya Bishnoi in the election

In the Haryana Assembly Elections 2024, BJP has fielded Kuldeep Bishnoi's son Bhavya Bishnoi from the Adampur seat. Bhavya Bishnoi is the grandson of former CM Bhajan Lal. He became MLA from Adampur seat for the first time in the 2022 by-election. Congress has given a ticket to Chandra Prakash while Krishna Gangwa Prajapati is contesting on the JJP ticket. At the same time, INLD has given a ticket to Randeep Chaudhariwas. Aam Aadmi Party has fielded Bhupendra Beniwal.

According to Election Commission data, there were 1,62,720 voters in the Adampur assembly constituency during the 20219 assembly elections. Out of this, 87,677 were male and 75,042 were female voters. The total number of voters in the Adampur constituency in the 2014 assembly elections was 1,54,074. Out of this, 82,711 voters were male and 71,363 were female voters. 

2019 Assembly Election Results

In the Haryana Assembly Elections 2019, Congress candidate Kuldeep Bishnoi won by a margin of 29,471 votes. He got a total of 63,693 votes with a 51.7% vote share. He defeated Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Sonali Phogat, who got 34,222 votes. Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) candidate Ramesh Kumar came third with 15,457 votes and CPIM candidate Suresh came fourth with just 2,088 votes. 

2022 Assembly By-election Results

Kuldeep Bishnoi resigned from the assembly seat in August 2022 and joined the BJP. In the by-election held after this, BJP candidate Bhavya Bishnoi won the Adampur seat. He got a total of 67,492 votes. Bishnoi defeated Congress candidate Jai Prakash, who got 51,752 votes. 

2014 Assembly Election Results

Kuldeep Bishnoi won the 2014 Haryana Assembly elections on a ticket of the Haryana Janhit Congress (BL). He got a total of 56,757 votes. Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) candidate Kulveer Singh Beniwal got 39,508 votes and came second. Bishnoi defeated Beniwal by a margin of 17,249 votes. Let us tell you that voting for the Haryana Assembly elections will be held on October 5 and its results will be declared on October 8.
