Kohli, who is presently enjoying his second-most prolific season in the league with over 700 runs after that iconic 2016 season where he scored 973, has scored one century and 5 fifties in the 2024 edition.
Virat Kohli of Royal Challengers Bengaluru during the qualifier one match of the Indian Premier League season 17 (IPL 2024) between Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad held at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad on the 21st May 2024.

Virat Kohli broke yet another record in Indian Premier League (IPL) history as he became the first batter to score 8000 runs in the Eliminator against the Rajasthan Royals on Wednesday.

He has scored one century and 5 fifties in the 2024 edition. His batting form is also one of the biggest reasons that RCB came back from the abyss to qualify from the play-offs and is also the current Orange Cap holder.

The player who has scored 8 centuries and 55 fifties in his IPL career had also broken another record in the last match against Chennai Super Kings when he became the first player to complete 3000 IPL runs at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, becoming the first IPL batter to reach 3000 runs at a venue across 17 editions.

Kohli featured in his maiden IPL appearance for the RCB at the Chinnaswamy in the IPL's inaugural match, against the Kolkata Knight Riders on April 18, 2008. He was dismissed for one run in that outing. In 86 innings since the former RCB captain has notched up 22 fifties and four centuries at the venue with a best of 113. Kohli has slammed 124 sixes at the ground.

Overall, Kohli has aggregated over 3400 runs at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, accounting for 116 runs in eight T20Is for India at the ground since 2012.
Kohli's four centuries are also the most by an IPL batter at a single venue and the joint-second most in all T20s, only behind Chris Gayle who had slammed five centuries at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur.
