New Delhi: Congress leader Kanhaiya Kumar on Sunday, September 15 said that there is silence in Jammu and Kashmir and when his party comes to power, real peace will be established here. He said that there is a difference between peace and silence, there is peace here and we have to bring real peace. Kanhaiya Kumar was here to campaign for All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary Ghulam Ahmed Mir, who is the party's candidate from the Duru seat in the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections.
There is a lot of anger.
Kanhaiya Kumar said that there is a lot of anger against the atrocities committed on the people of Jammu and Kashmir in the last 10 years. Our understanding is that this time the voting percentage in Kashmir will be the highest. He said that this time the voting would be against the atrocities, unemployment, and injustice being done to the people of Jammu and Kashmir and to get back the rights of the state.
Was accused
The Congress leader accused the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party of having ill intentions. He said that those who are contesting the elections independently are actually slaves of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. He also said that this time the elections in Jammu and Kashmir are a fight between two powers.
There's a fight between
On one side are those who spread hatred and on the other side are those who spread love and fight for the rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. According to PTI, Kanhaiya said that the elections that are going to be held are a battle between two ideologies. On one side is the National Conference-Congress alliance and on the other side is the alliance of all others, which is basically the alliance of the BJP. This battle is between love and hate, between justice and injustice.
Won't let there be division
This is a fight to get the people of Jammu and Kashmir their rights back which have been taken away from them. He said that the people here have understood that division of votes should not be allowed. Voting for the 90-member Jammu and Kashmir Assembly is to be held in three phases on 18 September, 25 September, and 1 October and the counting of votes will take place on 8 October.
