The dates for the Maharashtra Assembly elections have been announced. All the parties are preparing the list of names of their candidates. Meanwhile, Rajan Teli, a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader in Maharashtra's coastal Sindhudurg district, has resigned from the primary membership of the party. Rajan Teli is planning to join the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UTB) soon.

Narayan Rane's entry into the BJP caused trouble.

Rajan Teli was the BJP in charge of the Sawantwadi assembly constituency. Teli claimed that he worked hard for the BJP in the last 10 years, but he is facing troubles after Ratnagiri-Sindhudurg Lok Sabha MP and former Union minister Narayan Rane and his family joined the party.

Rajan Teli also spoke on nepotism

Citing reports about the possibility of Rane's son Nilesh joining the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena to contest the Assembly elections, Teli said he was against giving members of the same family a chance to represent the Lok Sabha and Assembly constituency.

Rajan Teli has been in Shiv Sena before

Rane's younger son Nitesh is an MLA from Kankavli in Sindhudurg district. He is likely to get a ticket from there. However, according to reports, Nilesh will be fielded from a seat held by the Shiv Sena. Out of the total 288 assembly seats in Maharashtra, 75 are in the Konkan region, including 36 seats in Mumbai. Rajan Teli was earlier part of the undivided Shiv Sena.
