Bengaluru-based space tech start-up Pixxel, is set to launch six hyperspectral imagery satellites in 2024, using rockets from both the ISRO - Indian Space Research Organization and SpaceX, according to CEO Awais Ahmed.
The new satellites, part of a larger constellation, aim to support industries such as
Agriculture
Energy
Forestry
Environmental Monitoring
This expansion comes amid a burgeoning Indian space tech sector, projected to reach $44 billion by 2033, bolstered by government support and venture capital interest.
Pixxel, which has previously launched three satellites, including the Shakuntala satellite via SpaceX's Falcon-9 in 2022, is currently working on nine more satellites at its MegaPixxel facility.
