A Deloitte report blames the lack of GenAl disruption in the legal sphere on the "unstructured nature of legal data and the heavy reliance on professionals". But bucking the trend in India is LawyerDesk Advocacy Pvt Ltd, which is paving the way for GenAl disruption in the Indian legal space.

Founded in 2023 by ASL Ganapathi Kumar and Anushita S P Karunakaram lawyer desk, Lawyer Desk is building multiple Al-based platforms for various stakeholders of the legal space the advocates, law students, the general public, and small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

Kumar knew that he was looking at a huge-scale disruption when he learnt (after interacting with several individuals) that only a few were aware of their basic right.The startup has already launched its first platform, Advocase, for advocates and practising lawyers - designed to assist them with case research and analysis, document analysis, and writing and filing cases, among others.

Next in its pipeline are:

* Prajalok: Empowers citizens with clear legal info, guidance, and case tracking.

* CaseWork: Simplifies legal matters for SMEs with relevant resources and support.

* LawBook: Gamifies legal education for law students with real-time case analysis and Moot Court simulations.

And Lawyer Desk isn't stopping in India.

They're already eyeing Southeast Asian countries like Malaysia and Singapore for expansion. With a planned launch by the end of 2024, Lawyer Desk is poised to revolutionize legal access in India and beyond.
