The Reserve Bank of India keeps warning people from time to time by sending SMS to avoid hackers. RBI has recently warned people about such a new fraud in the name of courier. At the same time, India Post and the Department of Telecommunications have also informed people about such frauds in the name of couriers.
RBI's warning
RBI has warned people through SMS, 'Beware of fake calls/emails/SMS about illegal items in your courier. Do not panic. Do not click on any unknown link. Never share your personal/financial information with anyone.'
At the same time, India Post has warned people about a similar fraud in the name of courier through its X handle. India Post has sent a screenshot of the message sent by scammers in its post, which contains a fake link. India Post has asked users not to click on any such unknown messages and links. Also, it has asked to report such communication on the Sanchar Sathi portal of the Government of India.
How to avoid hackers
- India Post said that do not to open any SMS link sent from any unknown number even by mistake.
- India Post never asks for money for delivering couriers.
- Apart from this, never share your personal information with anyone.
- If you receive any such fake SMS or call, report it immediately to Sanchar Saathi (Chakshu Portal).
