Bijnor: A 13 year old girl allegedly strangled her 2 younger stepsisters to death in Gauhavar Jait village, Noorpur, on Thursday night. The victims, aged 5 to 7, were found dead in their home on Friday morning.

Sources in the police department said the children's mother had married twice, and the accused, the only child from her first marriage, was the eldest of her six children.

With so many siblings and an ill mother, the accuse, a Class 10 student, had to bear the burden of household chores. Overwhelmed with frustration, she decided to kill her stepsisters to “reduce her workload”.

The deceased’s father, a daily wager at a brick kiln, was not at home when the incident took place, while their mother and her three other children were sleeping in a separate room.

Bijnor SP Neeraj Kumar Jadaun told the media, “Around midnight, we received a tipoff that two children had been murdered in the village. We reached the spot, found their bodies in their room, and sent them to the district hospital for autopsy, which confirmed that the two girls had been strangled.”
He added, “When we questioned the deceased’s stepsister, she initially claimed that two people had broken into their room and killed her sisters, but she changed her story multiple times.
