Bhokar Assembly Election 2024: The Bhokar Assembly seat is one of the 288 seats in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly. It is constituency number 85 of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly. This assembly seat is a general seat, not reserved for Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST). Bhokar Assembly seat is located in Nanded district of Maharashtra. It is part of the Nanded Lok Sabha constituency. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Congress and Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA), and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) are the main parties in the constituency. Ashokrao Shankarrao Chavan (former Chief Minister Ashok Chavan) of BJP currently represents the Bhokar seat and was elected from the Bhokar constituency on a Congress ticket in the Assembly Elections 2019. He joined the ruling BJP ahead of the Lok Sabha elections in February this year.
About Bhokar Assembly Constituency
According to the Election Commission data, there were 2,07,385 voters in the Bhokar constituency during the 2019 assembly elections. These included 1,09,312 male and 96,974 female voters. Three voters in the constituency were transgender. In the year 2019, 1,096 postal votes were cast in the Bhokar constituency. The number of service voters in Bhokar was 231 (228 male and 3 female). At the same time, in the 2014 assembly elections, the total number of voters in the Bhokar assembly constituency was 18,57,11. These included 99,815 male and 84,945 female voters. There were 951 valid postal votes in the Bhokar constituency. In the assembly elections in 2014, the number of service voters in Bhokar was 94 (74 male and 20 female). Let us tell you that voting will be held on November 20 (Wednesday) in the Bhokap seat. The results of the Bhokar seat will be declared on November 23 (Saturday) along with all other seats in Maharashtra.
2019 status of Bhokar assembly seat
Talking about the Assembly elections 2019, Congress had fielded Ashokrao Shankarrao Chavan on the Bhokar seat, who won by a margin of 97,445 votes (47.28%). He got 1,40,559 votes with 67.78% vote share. He defeated BJP leader Srinivas alias Bapusaheb Deshmukh Gorthekar, who got 43,114 votes (20.79%). At the same time, VBA leader Ayalvad Namdev Nagorao came third with 17,813 votes (8.59%). Apart from these, SBBGP candidate Bhagwan Bhimrao Kadam came fourth with 2,069 votes (1%). The total number of valid votes in this election was 2,07,382 (74.33%).
