Reliance Jio has once again raised its flag. The country's largest telecom company has left behind the world's big companies for the third time in a row. For the last 9 months, Reliance Jio has been ahead of Airtel, China Mobile, China Unicom, and Vodafone Idea in terms of mobile data traffic. International consulting and research company Tefficient said that Jio's mobile data traffic has grown by 24 percent year on year.
Mobile data traffic increased rapidly.
According to the report, mobile data traffic of other telecom companies such as Airtel has increased by 23 percent year-on-year. On the other hand, mobile data traffic of China Mobile has increased by only 2 percent year-on-year. In its X post, Tefficient said that Jio has left behind all the telecom companies of the world in terms of mobile data traffic for the third consecutive quarter.
Jio suffered a loss in this case.
However, the number of Reliance Jio subscribers has decreased in the last three months. Especially in July, after the mobile plans became expensive, Jio has lost 11 million i.e. about 1.1 crore users. In the quarter between April to June, the company's user base was 489.7 million, which has come down to 478.8 million in the quarter ended between July to September. At the same time, the number of Jio's 5G users has increased tremendously.
The company has grown to 148 million users in just two years. Jio is the world's largest 5G operator outside China. According to the report, every Jio user is consuming 31GB of data per month. At the same time, the company's average revenue per user (ARPU) has also increased by 18 percent.
BSNL users increased
BSNL has done the biggest job of making a dent in Jio's user base. The number of users of the government telecom company has increased by 55 lakhs in the last few months. BSNL has added 30 lakh new mobile users in July and 25 lakh in August.
