Srinagar: After performing well in the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections, National Conference vice-president Omar Abdullah on Friday staked a claim to form the government. Omar, along with senior leaders of his party, went to Raj Bhavan and met Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha. During this, he staked a claim to form the INDIA alliance government in Jammu and Kashmir.

After claiming to form the government, Omar Abdullah while talking to the media said that the process of forming the government will be very long because there is direct rule of the Centre here. The LG (Lieutenant Governor) will first send the documents to the President's House and then to the Home Ministry. We have been told that these processes may take two to three days.

Abdullah said that if all the processes of forming the government are completed by Tuesday, then the government will be sworn in on Wednesday, October 16. Along with this, he said that Jammu will not be ignored at all in this government. Let us tell you that in the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections, the National Conference has won 42 seats. Its ally Congress has got 6 seats and CPIM has got one seat. Apart from this, 4 independents have also supported Omar.
