Jharkhand Assembly Election 2024: Only a few days are left for the Jharkhand assembly elections. Voting will be held in two phases on November 13 and 20 for all 81 seats in the state. The election results will be declared on November 23. Given this, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) on Wednesday released its third list of five more candidates, in which outgoing MLAs Chamra Linda and Sukhram Oraon have been fielded from Bishunpur and Chakradharpur seats.
Chamra Linda won the Bishunpur seat in the 2019 assembly elections by defeating BJP's Ashok Oraon by 17,382 votes. Sukhram Oraon won by a margin of 12,234 votes against BJP's Laxman Giluwa. Apart from Linda and Oraon, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha has fielded Yogendra Prasad from Gomia, Snehlata Kandulna from Khunti (reserved), and Jiga Susaran Horo from Sisai (reserved) seat.
36 names in the first and second list
Earlier in the day, JMM announced the names of 35 candidates in the first list, in which Chief Minister Hemant Soren was nominated from Barhet and Kalpana Soren from Gandey, and in the second list, Mahua Maji was nominated from Ranchi. Mahua Maji is currently a Rajya Sabha member of JMM from Jharkhand. JMM has fielded her once from the Ranchi assembly seat. In the 2019 assembly elections also, Mahua Maji contested from Ranchi on a JMM ticket, but she was defeated. In the 2019 elections, Mahua Maji lost to CP Singh of BJP by a margin of 5904 votes. Mahua Maji has also been the President of the Jharkhand Women's Commission. Apart from this, she has also made a major contribution to the field of literature and writing.
