New Delhi: The trend of online payment is increasing rapidly in the digital world. India is also keeping pace with this world. Meanwhile, news has come out that India has left behind countries like America and China in the case of Unified Payments Interface i.e. UPI. Giving tough competition to big platforms like China's Alipay and America's PayPal, India's UPI has overtaken them.

About 3,729.1 transactions

Let us tell you, that between April and July 2024, UPI transactions worth about Rs 81 lakh crore took place in India, which is considered to be the highest globally. According to the report of Global Payment Hub PaySecure, there has been an increase of 37 percent in UPI payment transactions. Not only this, according to the information, about 3,729.1 transactions have been recorded every second. According to this, India has increased by 58 percent as compared to 2022.

20.6 lakh crore in July

According to PaySecure's data, 117.6 million UPI payments were made worldwide in 2023. At the same time, in July 2024 itself, transactions worth Rs 20.6 lakh crore were done, which is the largest figure recorded in a month. Apart from this, UPI has crossed the figure of Rs 20 lakh crore for three consecutive months. Due to digital payment transactions in India, more than 40 percent of payments are being made through digital means. At the same time, most of the payments are being made through UPI.

According to NPCI CEO Dilip Asbe, UPI can cross the 100 billion mark in the next 10 years. UPI is now making its presence felt not only in India but also in countries like the United Arab Emirates and Malaysia.
