The government has issued a new warning for crores of smartphone users. Government agency Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) has found several flaws in Android smartphones, due to which users' sensitive information can fall into the hands of hackers. The cyber security agency discovered this flaw on October 11 and has asked users to be careful about it.

CERT-In has detected several errors in the arbitrary code of Android smartphones, due to which personal information of users can be leaked. Crores of users in the country use smartphones based on Android 12, Android 13, Android 14, and Android 15. The government agency has seen new errors in these Android versions.
Personal information of about 20 million users of the country can reach cyber criminals, which they can use for financial fraud and common users may have to suffer huge losses. The security agency said that this flaw has come due to Android's framework, system, Google Play system update, imagination, technology components, MediaTek components, Qualcomm components, and other source components.
Cybercriminals can take advantage.
Most smartphone brands in the country use components from MediaTek or Qualcomm. In such a situation, smartphone users of brands like Xiaomi, Vivo, Samsung, OnePlus, Realme, Motorola, Redmi, and Poco are at greater risk. Cybercriminals can hack into users' devices by taking advantage of these flaws.
CERT-In has advised users to update their smartphones with the latest security patch. By doing this, no important information will leak from their device and they can avoid fraud. CERT-In has issued warnings for users several times before this, in which users have been advised to update their phones with the latest security patch.
