In this money laundering case, 2 people have been arrested who are accused of buying votes by giving crores of rupees to the poor. BJP is calling this case a 'vote jihad' scam. This case came to light when BJP leader Kirit Somaiya claimed that about Rs 125 crore was sent from a bank in Malegaon through hawala traders and then this money was sent to many accounts. Allegedly the purpose of this money was to influence the voters before the elections.
