Mumbai: The new government was sworn in on Thursday in Maharashtra. During this, Devendra Fadnavis took oath as the Chief Minister. Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar took oath as Deputy Chief Ministers. Along with PM Modi, many eminent leaders, film actors, industrialists, and sportspersons attended the swearing-in ceremony.

Meanwhile, during the entire oath-taking ceremony, Shiv Sena's Eknath Shinde's face looked dejected. Shinde, who was the Chief Minister for two and a half years, has now been made the Deputy Chief Minister. The sadness of losing the CM's chair was clearly visible on Shinde's face. When he came to take the oath of the Deputy CM, his tongue was also faltering.

After taking oath as Deputy Chief Minister, Eknath Shinde approached Prime Minister Modi who was present on the stage. During this, PM Modi smiled and shook hands with Shinde and also patted his shoulder. During this, thousands of people sitting in front of the stage expressed their happiness by clapping loudly.

Shinde was the chief minister for two and a half years.

 

Let us tell you that Eknath Shinde was the Chief Minister in the 'Mahayuti' government for about two and a half years from June 2022 to December 2024. During this time Devendra Fadnavis from BJP was the Deputy Chief Minister. Later Ajit Pawar from NCP also became the Deputy CM in the government. After this, in the 2024 assembly elections, when the Mahayuti got a huge majority and BJP alone won 132 seats and came close to the majority. After that BJP decided to make its own Chief Minister and Devendra Fadnavis became CM from Deputy CM.
