Congress has released its manifesto for the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections on Monday. In its election manifesto, Congress has promised to provide benefits of government welfare schemes to farmers, women, and youth.

Special promise for farmers

The main slogan of the election manifesto of Jammu and Kashmir is 'Haath Badlega Haalat'. It states that there is insurance for all crops to protect against natural disasters and a minimum support price (MSP) of Rs 72 per kilogram for apples.

Promise of lease arrangement to landless farmers

In this manifesto, the Congress has talked about providing additional financial assistance of Rs 4,000 per year to the landless, tenant, and land-owning farmer families. It has promised to arrange a 99-year lease for landless farmers cultivating state land.

Farmers will get a 100 percent irrigation facility.

The Congress said a fund of Rs 2,500 crore will be set up for all district-level irrigation projects to ensure 100 percent irrigation for farmers in Jammu and Kashmir.

The promise of filling 1 lakh government posts

For the youth of Jammu and Kashmir, the party has promised an unemployment allowance of up to Rs 3,500 per month for one year to eligible youth. The party has also promised to fill one lakh vacant government posts by releasing a job calendar within 30 days.
