Ranchi: Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) President Chirag Paswan made a big announcement on Sunday regarding contesting the assembly elections in Jharkhand. He said that his party would contest the Jharkhand assembly elections. However, he has not yet clarified whether the party will contest these elections alone or in alliance.
What is the whole matter?
Chirag Paswan said that all options are being considered on whether his party will contest the Jharkhand assembly elections in alliance or alone. Paswan's statement is also being considered big because a day earlier, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Vishwa Sharma had announced on Saturday that the BJP will contest the upcoming assembly elections in Jharkhand in alliance with NDA constituents 'All Jharkhand Students Union' (AJSU) and Janata Dal-United (JDU).
Let us tell you that LJP (Ram Vilas) is a part of the BJP-led NDA government at the Center. Chirag Paswan said at Ranchi's Birsa Munda Airport that the state unit of LJP is discussing all options including alliance or contesting the elections alone.
talk of a strong public support
Paswan said that LJP (Ram Vilas) has a strong support base in Jharkhand. When I was born, Jharkhand was a part of unified Bihar. This has been my father's karmabhoomi. The party has built a strong support base in the state. In such a situation, it has been decided that the party will contest the upcoming assembly elections.
On the other hand, the Chief Minister of Assam had said on Saturday, 'BJP will contest the Jharkhand elections along with AJSU and JDU. Agreement has been reached with the allies on 99 percent of the seats. Talks are going on for the remaining one or two seats and a decision will be taken on them soon.'
Sharma said a formal announcement in this regard will be made after the 'Pitru Paksha' which ends on October 2. Elections for the 81-member Jharkhand Assembly are proposed later this year.
