Major changes have been recommended to NTA to prevent the problem of paper leaks and irregularities in JEE Main, NEET UG, CUET UG, CUET PG, and other entrance exams. In the recommendation, IIT, NIT, Navodaya, Kendriya Vidyalaya, and engineering colleges have been asked to be made exam centers for all these entrance exams. In its recommendation, the NTA Exam Reform Committee has asked for major changes in the centers to make the exams foolproof. Along with this, the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) was also advocated in organizing the exam. It was said that AI will have to be used for everything from the exam center to its organization, paper, answer sheet,, and other tasks, so that there is no problem anywhere.
The committee has also advised NTA to set up its own exam centers and prepare the workforce. According to NTA sources, to secure the entrance exam, NTA has first been asked to change its exam conducting methods. Let us tell you that in NEET UG 2024, irregularities were found in the examination center itself, due to which it has been recommended to change the examination centers.
Emphasis on organizing examinations on the lines of IIT
The committee said that IIT's JEE Advanced is a better entrance exam. NTA needs to get information from IIT regarding the preparation and organization of JEE Advanced, where IIT conducts the advanced exam at the exam center selected by TCS. TCS is responsible for providing the center and computers, while IIT itself takes all the other confidential responsibilities from the center to conduct the exam across the country. In this, IIT professors themselves are present at every center and conduct the entrance exam, on the same lines NTA will have to appoint its own officer at every center, which will maintain the confidentiality of the exam.
Government institutions were asked to make examination centers.
The recommendation further states that emphasis should be given to setting up exam centers in government institutions. Here CCTV surveillance and setup for online and offline (hybrid mode) exams is already ready, for this NTA will have to set up centers in IIT, NIT, AICTE-recognized engineering colleges, Navodaya Vidyalaya, and Kendriya Vidyalaya. Let us tell you that all these educational institutions come under the Central Education Ministry, so there will be no scope for disturbance in the confidentiality of the exams and security of the exam centers. Also, NTA will not have to recruit separate staff for the exams.
