He further said, so this time I will claim the post of Chief Minister based on being a senior leader. Whether they make me CM or not is their jurisdiction. If I am made the Chief Minister, I will change the fate of Haryana, I will change the picture of Haryana. Let us tell you that Anil Vij is a six-time MLA from Ambala, Haryana. This time he is contesting elections for the seventh time. Apart from this, he has also been the Home Minister in the Haryana government.

There were contenders in 2019 too.

It is known that in the 2019 assembly elections, BJP had won 40 seats. Even then, initially, the news of him becoming the CM kept going on behind the scenes. However, due to being six seats short of the majority, the BJP had to ally with the Dushyant Chautala-led Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) and the party again made Manohar Lal Khattar the CM. Apart from this, Congress had won 31 seats during the assembly elections in 2019. At the same time, the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) won 10 seats, while seven independents, one candidate each from INLD and Haryana Lokhit Party also won. The BJP formed the government for the first time in the state by winning 47 seats in the 2014 assembly elections.
