Srinagar/Chandigarh/New Delhi: Assembly elections have been completed in Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana. In Jammu and Kashmir, the alliance of the National Conference and Congress has won. Whereas, in Haryana, BJP is going to form the government for the third consecutive time. The special thing in the election results of these two states was that the parties that had performed well in the last election, their condition looked bad this time.

PDP-JJP lost badly

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) has been badly defeated in the assembly elections of Jammu and Kashmir and the Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) in Haryana. While the PDP has got 3 seats in Jammu and Kashmir, the JJP could not even open its account in Haryana. Iltija Mufti, daughter of PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti, herself lost the election. JJP's head Dushyant Chautala could not even save his deposit.

Both had supported the BJP

Let us tell you that both the PDP and JJP have been in alliance with the BJP. While PDP has run the government in Jammu and Kashmir with BJP from 2014 to 2018, JJP has been a part of BJP's Manohar Lal Khattar government from 2019 to 2024. After breaking the alliance with BJP, as soon as both the parties entered the elections, they had to face a crushing defeat.
