Chandigarh/New Delhi: Assembly elections are going on in Haryana. During this time all the political parties have put their full strength in the election campaign. On one hand, the ruling party BJP is trying to form the government for the third consecutive time. On the other hand, the main opposition party Congress is also trying to come to power.
There is a ruckus in Congress about the post of CM.
The one issue on which factionalism and conflict are being seen within the Congress in Haryana is the issue of the CM's face. The veteran Dalit leader of the Haryana Congress, Kumari Shailaja, wants the party to project her as the CM face. Bhupendra Hooda has already got the CM's chair twice. In such a situation, he should get a chance now. But the Hooda faction is not ready to accept this. Bhupendra Hooda, who is 77 years old, is not ready to remove himself from the race for the Chief Minister.
Kumari Shailaja disappeared from the election campaign.
The Hooda faction is constantly trying to dominate the state Congress. If political discussions are to be believed, Bhupendra Hooda's word has been more in ticket distribution. Given this, Kumari Selja has now sat at her home just before the voting. She is completely absent from the election campaign. It is known that 17 assembly seats of the state are reserved for Scheduled Castes. Selja has a good influence on all these seats. In such a situation, if Selja stays away from the election campaign, then the Congress may have to face a big loss.
BJP people are trying to woo Shailja
It is being said that the BJP is now trying to take advantage of this factionalism in Congress. BJP leaders have started wooing Kumari Shailja. If political circles are to be believed, after the elections, another leader like Eknath Shinde of Maharashtra may come to Haryana in support of the BJP.
