Apple recently launched a new AI feature for iPhone, iPad, and Mac in its biggest mega event of the year, which was named Apple Intelligence. But till now the company's home devices Apple HomePod and Apple TV have not got this feature. But, according to a new report, Apple is working on a new table-top robot device, which may be Apple's first home device to get this new AI feature.
Bloomberg's Mark Gurman claims that Apple is not planning to bring AI features to its HomePod or Apple TV right now. Instead, the company is working on a new tabletop robot device, which is still under development. Gurman first mentioned this device in an April report. He said that this would be an advanced tabletop device that would be able to move the display around with the help of robotics. The user's head movement during a FaceTime call is believed to be the idea behind this device.
When will the device be launched?
The report also states that this device will be able to focus on one person standing in the group during a video call. However, it is not yet known which AI features will be included in this device and when it will be launched. The report also states that Apple is concerned about whether customers will spend money on such a device.
Last week, a report suggested that Apple is planning to launch a new HomePod with a touchscreen display. Although it is not completely confirmed, ithis table-top robotic device may bepointing towards the same device. Apart from this, Gurman claims that AI-powered Siri will not be included in beta testing before January 2025. It is believed that it will be launched for the public next year with the iOS 18.4 update.
